For any mail service, especially free, never use it for anything important until you have tested it for some time.
Do a google search and see what people have said about it. The buzz is not so great, for instance see http://my.opera.com/ThePrawn/blog/show.dml/37392, or http://gigaom.com/2005/10/03/30gigs-email-for-free/. (the first one says his account maxed out at 1GB). It seems to be unreliable so far, though not a scam. I wouldn't trust it for storing anything I didn't have backed up elsewhere, and if you have to back it up elsewhere why bother with them?
And the name bothers me; "gig" is uncountable, if you have 30GB of memory you have "30 gig", not "30 gigs" (pet peeve, ignore if you disagree)

30 gigs seems too good to be true and free for that matter. Read into it more, could be a promotion if you upgrade to a premium account or something. If not, be careful if the company isn't reputable.
