There are obviously some really famous classical music that everyone loves, such as Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Trouble is, that's the only popular one I know by name. What are some other very famous ones?

I'd say...

- "Gymnopedie No. 1" by Erik Satie
- "Nocturne No. 2 in E flat major" by Frederic Chopin
- "Fantasie - Impromptu in C sharp minor" - by Frederic Chopin
- "Polonaise in A flat major" (aka - "The Heroic") by Frederic Chopin
- "Fur Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven
- "Symphony No. 5 in C minor" by Ludwig van Beethoven
- "Rondo Alla Turca" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- "The Marriage of Figaro" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Johann Sebastian Bach
- "Air on a G String" by Johann Sebastian Bach
- "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by Peter Tchaikovsky
- "Romeo & Juliet: Fantasy - Overture" by Peter Tchaikovsky
- "The Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss
- "Le Carnaval des Animaux" (aka - "The Carnival of the Animals") by Camille Saint-Saëns
- "Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint-Saëns
- "Peter and the Wolf" by Sergey Prokofiev

Those are some of the most popular ones I could think of. There are plenty more, but it would take forever to list them all - lol.

For those who are into classical music this question sounds so odd. "Best" depends on what you love. Do you like organ music? I don't really, so i cannot suggest here.
I like piano music, and if you do too, try some Rachmaninoff: his 2 or 3rd concerto (they are very popular among classical music lovers). If you wanna find something that you love, try listening to different composers, from different epoch, and you will find something that appeals to you.
If you like new classical try some Yanni music, he is great, he is really popular. I am sure you gonna like his music regardless of your musical preferences.
Hope it helped :)
