Insecure people have no self-esteem, so by insulting others, it makes them feel "better" than the person they're insulting.

They get a sense of being better than the person they insulted. Its usually a false sence. People insult other people because they are unhappy with their own lives and it gives them a little ego boost to piss people off.

your self pride but after everything subside and you think it over,
you feel guilt and regret it.And you will be asking the question

Ego? Low self esteem?, bitterness? general absence of peace? fear? I insult people unknowingly and most of the time unwillingly when I feel threatened (afraid) when I think I won't get my way (control), when I think I am better than others {ego), when Stuff happens to my plans (frustration) see how it works, we all do it, at one time or another.

They are getting their frustration out on those who will not strike back and a gateway of excape to make them think they got the victory of being noticed. Sometimes one will do this in order to belittle a person for reason being like jealousy or other unpronounced reasons.
