your burner IS a dual layer DVD burner but are you also using blank dual layer discs?

Yes. But for that you need a Dual-Layer burner as well as a Dual-Layer disc that can hold 8.5 GB data. Your DRU-120C seems to be a DL drive. So just pick up a decent pack of DL DVDs from your local Staples or something.

Yes you can as long as you use a blank double layer disk or dual layer disk.

OK, you have a DL burner.

Are you using DL discs?
Can your burning SOFTWARE handle DL?
(Note: in some cases, you have to TELL the software to use DL burning, it can't automatically determine that the disc is DL.)
