Ah clever joke Gaspode...(hint of sarcasm).
Actually, I posted the same question, but with the title "Are you islamophobic" instead. And it got removed. I didn't incite hate or anything. People will just jump to conclusions....

no I am not. People who think that Muslims are supposed to blow themselves up and to kill all infidels (neither are true) are islamophobia. So basically, people who don't know much or know the wrong things about Islam are islamophobic. Those people think on the same lines of those who believe that Christianity is all about the KKK. What the people who call themselves followers of a religion do, does not determined what the religion itself actually is.

Islamophobia is a term created by Muslims to confuse the issues.

A "phobia" is an irrational fear with little or no basis in fact with neurotic overtones. For example, I have a phobia towards wasps and other flying stinging insects(but strangely not bees). While I am allergic to wasp stings, this fear is irrational as most of those insects do not bother you unless they consider their nest threatened. I can rationally, while sitting at my computer say that, but if a wasp were to all of a sudden land on my keyboard, I'd probably run into the other room screaming.

Now compare that to what Muslims and their defenders call Islamophobia. Most people who they call "Islamophobes" don't run the other way when a Muslim is in their midst. Their heart doesn't beat rapidly, etc. Most of what is called "Islamophobia" is simply criticism of Islam, most of it very valid criticism such as:

- Most of the serious conflicts in the world involve Muslims.
- Muslims tend to resort to violence as a first line of conflict resolution.
- Most Muslim cultures are backwards by western standards with few rights for women, little tolerance for other religions in their midst, and extreme hatred of those who are gay.

So I reject the term "Islamophobia" although I could perhaps see a tiny amount of the critics of Islam being a little too irrational in their criticism of Islam.

Good grief, Gispode. You probably have no fear of lambs!!!
Islamophobia...Islamophobia is a neologism defined as the phenomenon[1] of a prejudice against or demonization of Muslims which manifests itself in general negative attitudes, violence, harassment, discrimination, and stereotyping (and particularly being vilified in the media).[2][3][4] The term dates back to the late 1980s[5] or early 90s,[6] although its use has increased since the September 11, 2001 attacks.

India, Darfur, Philippines, Chechnya, Middle East, Indonesia, etc...
