Because it has not slapped anyone in the face yet. In other words, global warming has not had a major impact on their lives yet, so it is not yet on the person radar as being important.

It may be because when given the chance to research global warming there are many scientists that say it is happening and many others that say it is not. Which scientist do we believe?
Many people will pick the one that agrees with their viewpoint.
The government isn't so much denying the fact of global warming as waiting for all the conflicting data to be figured out.
The truth is somewhere in between all the extremist claims. That is the truth I accept.

1 Don't deny global warming... just that it is man caused
2 All may agree that it is happening, there is *no* agreement as to it's cause.
3 What is "the truth"?
4. Even among those that say global warming is man caused, there is disagreement about if we can do *anything* about it or not
5 Global warming may, in fact, actually be an overall benefit.
6 Chicken Little politics helps no one except the control freaks.

First started talking serious about global warming and we had an unusually extended cold wave. Killed my bushes and grass and some of my tropicals. At the time I said I wished someone would convince my shrubs and flowers we were experiencing global warming. The last two decades have been pretty average, now two years of mild weather. Global or cycles just wish theycould prove SOMETHING, so everybody could agree.

You do understand that the polar ice caps have advanced and receded repeatedly over the last few hundred thousand years, right?
The world is doing its thing. The Greens should be much more concerned with the former Soviet Republics and China with regard to the causes of any perceived global warming.
The U.S. is just the world's favorite whipping boy. Get over it already.

Maybe because many of the world's leading scientists say that there is no such thing as global warming. They say that the warming and cooling of the earth is a cycle that has been going on since the earth began. Further, even Al Gore doesn't believe his nonsense since he continues to fly private jets, drive SUVs, and refused to pay the extra $5 to his local utility company so his electricity, gas, and water could "go green." Even the "evil" Republican government in Washington has done that! If Gore and those scientists don't believe it, why should I?

I can't understand why the government can't just admit that it is happening, and at an alarming rate.
Scientists can't fully agree what the cause is.
Some think the Earth is nearing a reverse of polarities. Other's believe there is a change in Earth's core. I watched documentaries on both theories. I feel they may both be correct.
We humans may be speeding up the process. However, I think there are things larger than ourselves who are doing the most damage. Something large enough that we have no control over. That's why there is so much denial.

There are few who deny that the planet is warmer than it was a few years ago, but many disagree with the reasons.
History shows that the situation on earth does not remain the same for ever - it is is constant change.
However, the idea that man is creating the problem is a difficult one to agree with.
First, it was supposed to be created by CFCs. But CFCs are heavier than air, and could never create a greenhouse effect.
Secondly its supposed to be created by burning fossil fuels. But carbon dioxide is also heavier than air, and so could not create a greenhouse effect.
The reason for the heating up is that the sun is hotter, and so every planet is heating up, and man is not responsible for the changes on other planets, so it's fair to assume that he's not responsible for changes on this planet either

Nobody is denying that the earth is warming up. In fact it has been doing so for the last 8,000 years. What the scientists are not all in agreement about is the cause.

Because companies profit from destroying the enviorment. The companies support the politicans and all the networks are owned by larger corperations. The amount of money spent on this war the could have built enough windmill farms to provide power to the whole country, but why would they want free energy, there's no money to be made. Some poiticans are trying to fight these things from being built, why's that? All the technolgy we have and we still use oil and coal.
