What is the great thing about it? Why is it that people, young teenage girls in particular, just HAVE to post these random things on the internet? AND! Do you beleive that people that can't web design shouldn't be allowed to have websites?

My space can ruin lives.
It started out at a place to meet and now has turned into a dating site, hatred site, nosy site, lying site, and more. People of all ages get on there and explore there fantasys. What makes me sick is the liers. You get 70 year old men chasing after 14 yr old girls. They lie, they put up someone elses pictures and they know all the right things to say to get you to believe them.
This site enables everyone to mix even those who are former criminals. Everyone is trying to impress the others and they go way too far. They lie about their age (who can catch them), their size, their life (make it sound real good), and they make up lots of stuff.
I would never let a teen go on myspace (it is addicting too) but how can you stop them without being home every minute. This is the lure of the web.
Right now I know a 22 year old who is married who is on my space telling everyone she is single while he husband is off fighting for our country. How low can we go?

well its just another way to meet people and chat with people that you already know, because it seems that almost everyone has a myspace. its just a fun thing for young people to leave comments and message people, and sometimes vent on it and people can comment on their vents too. then they can put music on their pages and pictures and fix their pages and personalize them however they want to. Its a place where they are in total control of their page and how it appears to others thats all their own, what isnt fun about that? This is somewhere that they can express themselves, so of course people specially teens love it. But like everything there is the down side that it can be dangerous if they try and take these online freindships outside to their real life. I know because i got a stalker from there, dont want to get into that though. But yes if teens arent careful they can attract the wrong people, and bad things can happen, but then again, bad things can happen walkin out of school or going to the movies or meeting people at random, so i dont think its fair when people point their finger at myspace as responsible when their kids get mixed up with the wrong people, because there are ways to control that its up to the kids to be smart and make the right choices on or off the internet. Its sad though that all these sick minded people have access to kids. But we are living in the internet era so its just another thing we all have to be careful with. Parents just make sure your kids are aware of the dangers! Thats when parenting comes in. Some kids just dont know what can happen so we need to explain the dangers so they can be careful but still let them have fun.

As an adult with some common sense, I have to say the great thing about myspace is catching up with old friends, especially the girls that lived across the street from me and my sister in middle school. I can share a funny clip or comment, or memory with all of them at the same time. We are even planning a reunion. We wouldn't have gotten back in touch if we hadn't been on myspace.
I believe in the power of copy and paste html. Thanks to all those lovely websites just waiting for me to come and do some free advertising, I don't have to know jack about web design and I can do some interior design! :)

i know what you mean my friend died on it and i almost died and its so stupid people think they arent going to like raped or whatever cause "god wouldnt do that to them" but the truth is that yeah god will take care of you but if you make a bad desicion god isnt going to fix your mistakes you will just die
its not worth getting in trouble or dying

because its like being at school at home, but with no work . you can talk your friends, and find others that you may have not seen since like 3rd grade. which has happend to me. its pretty cool
