Shetland ponies are perfect. they can help your children have fun by giving them safe rides, like pony rides at a fair. They are so sweet and gentle, but some develop biting habits, so avoid those. Most any animal that your kids cant harm are good, like chicks, they might step on or squeeze tooo hard when they pick them up

Baby lambs. Get ones that do not grow up with horns, just in case...
Goats can be very nice as well, little pushy at times though. Get them dehorned.
Pigs are very smart and usually gentle with little kids. They are not as messy as people think. They can be kept in a clean place, but remember they do not sweat so they need somewhere to cool of when warm.
Go to a petting zoo and see what you like. There are miniature cattle now, miniature everything it seams like lol!
How fun!! Hope you put some pictures up of your critters when you get them :0)

I have a goat and i love her very much. they teach kids how to care for a farm animal and don't need a lot of care. if you get need to get another one too. this way they can keep each other company. make sure they are dehorned because they can do a lot of damage (especially to children). also make sure you buy from a respected breeder. if you have any questions about them feel free to IM or email me.

I have two kids, 16 months and 5 months. We had our pets before we had the babies, and they all get along beautifully together. Here's what we have, cats, dogs, pygmy goats and fainter goats, ducks, chickens, rabbits and a turtle (he's inside). Goats, chicks, ducklings, are all super friendly and make great pets when raised as babies. Ours follow us around the yard like a weird parade. The kids think it's hilarious!

I HIGHLLLLLYYYY recommend Nigeian Dwarf goats. They're small easy maintance ........wanna buy some from my aunt??
but they are veryyyyy sweet and gentle. they actually eat poison ivy. They can last on grass butlike all goats they love grain and other food. all u gotta do is trim the hooves, give them water, and deworm them and give them grain if u want. oh, and they need to have salt available. I would DEFIANTLY look into buying one.

Bottled fed Goats, Goats, Goats....and if they end up having a bad temperment then you just have Dinner, Dinner, Dinner.....I have had two goats and they are just great animals. We had a goat that we bottle fed and she had a collar and would walk with a leash. She was the best.

i used to live on a two acre farm when i was little. we had two goats that were really sweet. the only problem is that they head-butt you once in a while.
why not get a dog?
