Does anyone know if Landlords in Washington are required by law to have a deadbolt on the door lock? I asked my landlord to put one on but I think he said no. (someone showed me they could open it with a credit card)

Washington Landlord tennant law covers unsafe conditions. Any lock can be defeated by a criminal. If there is any reasonable key lock on your door (as required by law), the law has been satisfied, the rest is up to you...sorry.

i am not sure about WA state, but seems to me, that if your lock has proven not secure, he is required to put one in that is. call your local legal aid service (free services) and find out. here 2 links:
