well is she was just a friend and not a best friend, i would not be upset about it. maybe she has her reasons why she decided to keep it a secret. But...if she was my best friend and she totally didnt share it with me...Hmmm....I would probably not talk to her...

I'd want to know why my friend would lie? Did they think you'd be mad? Did they think maybe you liked the guy? Did she think you would tease her? I would ask my friend why she did'nt tell me and try to understand where the problem is in your relationship that she didn't feel she could tell you what should be happy news.

Well first, I would start out w/ asking why she lied about it in the first place. Do you know the guy she's going out with? Does she know that you wouldn't approve? People have reasons for lying.
I'd talk to her about it. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't.

Maybe she really wants a boyfriend and no guys sees her like that. Maybe she might hate what you might think of her or him. Just assure her that your her friend no matter who or who she is not with.

I'd try and talk to her (him?) about it and find out why they were trying to hide it from you. It was obviously due to some reaction they thought you would have.
Keep in mind that sometimes you're a friend to someone who isn't a friend to you.

it really doesnt matter they probably want to keep her personal life private even from her best friend, and she probably wanted to wait to tell you.
