No brainer. If USC wins out, then they will play OSU for the national title. They deserve to play for the title too. The way the system is set up, BCS(Bullsh** College System) it hurts you to lose later in the year than it does earlier. USC is a great team and will give OSU everything they can handle. While USC did lose to the Beavs they will have beaten Cal, ND, and won the Pac-10 so that should count for something. This will be their fourth year in a row in the championship game so make no mistake they can drop OSU if it comes down to it.

This is a great topic for debate. I agree that USC will probably move into second place on strength of schedule, even though Michigan is the second best team. Arkansas won't drop too far though, so if Florida wins, it will still mean a lot, maybe enough to move into second. I think if FL beats AR really bad and USC just squeaks by Notre Dame, then FL will be no.2.
I kinda wouldn't mind seeing a rematch between Ohio State and Michigan because it was a great game the first time, but I also wanna see USC or Florida get dismantled by Ohio State. In that case, this whole discussion is a waste of breath, because that's whats gonna happen.
All this goes to show is there NEEDS to be a playoff in the BCS.

They have to win out, but they don't have to win by a large margin in either game. The addition of Notre Dame and UCLA to what is already the second-toughest schedule in college football will be enough to put USC over the top and relegate the sorry Wolverines to the Rose Bowl.
Guess you still haven't learned the lesson that it's a 12 game season and not a one-game season, but then again, who expects fans of the scum from West Ypsilanti to rise above their fifth-grade education?

the team that will get screwed the most is Florida (barring they win out as well) Michigan does NOT deserve to be #2 and this is just the sad fact of life in the pathetic world of college football. If you remove teh championship then all you have left is what excatly the AP thought of this nonsense. BS!
There must be a playoff format but the BS committee (who by the way is also responsible for banning "offensive" nicknames) decided to have a 5th "championship" in their little BS format.
If USC wins out (and its possible they will) USC deserves to be there. But they have done EVERYTHING they can to keep USC out and the big loser in all of this is Florida.
This system needs to die a very quick and painful death.
Kudos to the AP for getting out of this BS.

I wouldnt think that Florida is completly out of it. USC loses one of its last 2 games and florida beats Arkansas in the SEC championship then they may have a shot. USC will make it if they win out.
