You got it right. You can always plug in a couple of numbers in the equation (say 0, 1, etc) to verify your answer. For example putting "0" for x, you'll get:
0^2-8*0+16=16
(0-4)(0-4)=16
Of course this is not 100% foolproof (unless you try a lot of numbers), but it helps a lot. Besides 0, 1 and 2 are my other favorites to plug in.

yup you got it right! not simplified x^s-8x+16 is the same as x^2-4x-4x-16.
so the answer (x-4) (x-4) is correct!

x² + bx + c = (x + m)(x + n)... where (m)(n) = c and m + n = b
x² - 8x + 16 = (x - 4)(x -4) = (x - 4)²
