The good news is you have picked the best time of the year to visit Las Vegas(this year 12/10 - 12/29) for great room rates...Your weekend of the 15th-17th is far and away the best weekend of the year, but, you waited too long to grab the cream of the crop deals...You will still be able to find a great rate, just not a steal...Start checking earlier next year and you will be amazed at some of the deals offered, after NFR up until December 29th or 30th. The room rates for New Years are very-very high...

Sample room rates from http://www.travelworm.com for 12/15-17
Stratosphere - $41 - N end of strip
Riviera - $47 - Center strip
Sam's Town - $59 - Boulder hwy(shuttle to strip)
Tuscany - $79 - walking distance to strip
Westin Casuarina - $79 - walking distance to strip

I have a few hotel promo codes for that weekend
Luxor - >PDNY1<
Mirage - >WINGST< $95>+free room upgrade
Golden Nugget - touch of gold $89
LV Hilton - >PHOTDT6<
Orleans - >EDE1119< 50% off room rates
You will have to book/check these through the hotels web site, which are available through the Las Vegas Advisor site below...

A couple of travel sites that I check for LV room rates
http://www.tripres.com
http://www.vegas.com
http://www.i4vegas.com

the best site for LV information
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com
I have no idea what you are into as far as having fun goes but this site covers every facet of the entertainment scene in LV

This is good time.; however, weekends are more expensive than during the week. Try hotels.com to find rates of all hotels. I suggest staying on the strip. You can walk most places or take the bus. The bus goes up and down the strip and cost only $2.oo per person each time you get on. The strip will be very busy with cars and people. Try not to take a cab - they are very expensive. Flamingo was mentioned earlier and is a great hotel with favorable rates. Frontier is old (still clean), but rates are usually much less. You can also try Priceline.com and name your price. Be carefull to select the correct part of town (ie. strip) and star hotel rating, because if a hotel accepts your bid, you cannot back out.

I think you are going at a good time. Rooms may be cheap. Try vegas.com. I have literally stayed 100s of nights on the strip. I think you may get a good deal at the Aladdin soon to be Planet Hollywood. It is a great location directly across from the beautiful Bellagio. Or try Ballys or Paris. Avoid Circus Circus it is scarry. When you go there, also get a players card and use it when you play. You will probably get invited back for free rooms or better rates. Maybee try Monte Carlo or New York New York. You will want to be in the area of the Bellagio just to walk around. Maybee Harrahs. It is up to your budget. Do not go for best price but location for a quality time.

Try the Gold Coast. Rooms start at $39.95 a night. Might be a little more with short notice. It's not on the Strip but it's close and they have a 24hr free shuttle to take you to and from the Strip. The Palms and Rio Hotels are close by. You can walk to those.

Hi...I think you should try the Tropicana. It is on the south end of the strip but the rates are great. I like booking directly through their website. I also watch almost everyday and if I see those rates drop from when I booked, I call them and ask for the cheaper advertised rate. They are very nice about doing that too.
The hotel is older but it is clean and I think their players club is generous for being on the strip. It was close to NYNY where I spent alot of time.

Nice time to come to Las VEgas. We are in a slow period and most places will have deals.

Check the link below and you will find them.
Downtown is always the best. But on the strip you have Tropicana and Excalibar for deals

you're usually given a precise value in keeping with nighttime, and then they often make it easier to recognize the final value which you're paying in keeping with nighttime for the period of your stay. Weekend costs tend to be greater than weeknight costs, and costs can variety in accordance to call for and different components. yet you will in basic terms pay the honestly value which you have been quoted once you booked - in basic terms be certain you're watching the finished room value and not the final room value. they'd't develop your value once you have booked at a undeniable value. word that Mirage has a $15 hotel value in keeping with nighttime, which isn't coated interior the fee you have been quoted. It consists of admission to the Dolphin Habitat & secret backyard, internet use, newspaper, etc. whether it somewhat is an extra value which would be extra on your bill.
