Physical exercise helps, but no one likes that answer.
They dont like it when you tell them its the best and only way to lose weight either.
But thats because people are stupid and lazy.

I saw a documentary on professional athletes that "choke" and it discussed the psychological aspect of it. It is displaced anxiety and sort of a control thing. You subconsciously self-sabbotage because you fear failure (self-fulfilling) and that way you control the outcome ("Who am I to be the best?").
You should read the Nelson Mandela Inagural speech (written by Marianne Williams). I think you might find it inspirational.
You could see a counselor, or you could just ask yourself some hard questions. What if, you were to succeed? What happens when you don't? What do you say to yourself before/after a competition? Are you more in competition with others, or yourself? Are you afraid that if you allow yourself to succeed, you will prove that you are not living up to your potential? Are you afraid of being judged by others? Is it perofrmance anxiety? Why would you waste time worrying about what's bad or wrong, rather than what's good and right?

Ok, this is very simple. Think about this, anywhere you go the problems are going to follow you. Usually this happen to the young people that is unsecure or lack of experience. If something is going to happen just let it happen, anyway it got to happen. If you think in the future is ok, but who can give the security that you are going to live tomorrow? Just think on today, one day at time. When i was young i was like you, but later i understand that i was needing experience to see what was ahead of the way. There is a saying: the devil know more bacause the experience, but not for being the devil. Right know that im older i can take everything with calm, because i can handle every situation WITH EXPERIENCE. Think about it.

Check with a physician first but there is a natural vitamin. Funny you mention Horses because the vitamin is related to the hyperactivity of horses as well. Valerian Root is the Vitamin twice a day.

Take some deep breaths. I think that concentrating on deep measured breaths would help. Close your eyes think about just you and the best horse ride you have ever had. Imagine the way that it felt. I hope that this helps.

Well actually i used to show horses to and i always had butterflys in my stomach and it totally messed me up. I would usually take deep breaths through my nose and slowly let it out through my mouth. it helped me so you could at least try it...

Try breathing techniques like what is taught in yoga
One of my favorite yoga quotes is " Perform to the limit of your strength, raise your staff and watch, as what once blocked your path, becomes your path.."
Think positive
