Why should I call myself white if my skin is naturally tan?

You shouldn't, if you don't identify with the term! I am also tan and dark haired and always put "other" under the race designation. Somehow, I don't feel "White" describes me and thus never adopted the term!!!

You don't have to call yourself white. You can call yourself Italian, Spanish etc.... Whatever your nationality is if you want to. Call yourself what you feel like... It's all about you!

Because you have genetic characteristics that make you Caucasian.... And it's an identity thing. Russians aren't Asian just because their country is in Asia, are they?

Are you mexican? If you're don't call your self white. If you're of any latin race then you aren't white. If you live in asia , You're asian not white.

you dont have to call yourself white,,,, if by your name, your italian, you can say that, now days there are even boxes to write in your choice on most type forms you fill out,,,, basically, you define yourself,,,, giving consideration to your heritage,,,,

yea know its weired iam irish japanese , white ,but just put down asian
