The lifespan increased due to advances in medical science during the last two hundred years or so. However, in some western countries, lifespan is expected to decrease due to avoidable diseases caused by obesity, such as type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis and renal failure. How many fat, very old people do you see? For the first time in recorded history, children will not live for as long as their parents.

Lament, all you lovers of fast, fatty foods!

well... people's lifespan are increasing nowadays, not decreasing. we've never had an 100-year average lifespan in the history of humankind.

you have it backwards, the lifespan is much longer now.
