Without the right to bear arms, no one can defend the rest of the rights that are on paper. Paper burns and you can use it to wipe with. Freedom has a cost.

Well, some would argue that it simply protects our right to bear arms while others would argue that this amendment has nothing to do with the right to own and/or bear arms.
I would argue that it was both.
Basically back in 1786 some our founding fathers thought we should form a regular army to protect the country from armed uprisings within itself. While some thought it was a good idea others decided it was not such a good idea as they feared a unified army could take over if not kept in check. Hence the basic birth of the second amendment which was put into place to ensure that the federal army could not take over the country and infringe on our rights outlined by the first amendment.
Today... in modern times we use the original creation of the second amendment as a pedistool for our rights to bear arms as individuals. Some may say the original idea was never created to imply that any American citizen should have the right to carry a gun while others argue it was the fundamentals of that right which guarantee'd our freedom, for which our founding fathers so desired.
Either way I'd so both are somewhat right... but that's just me.

A well regulated militia to ensure the security of this nation and the right of the citizens to carry and keep arms. How quickly we would be overrun were we to have no Air Force,Marines,Navy,Army-no weapons for all are necessary to keep this country ours and that it always be America. To protect ones home, family and possessions is the right of every human being and since there are those, who are not respecters of law, who would readily use force to take these and thereby force is required ,a necessity since we do not live in a Utopia. There will always be those driven by greed and corruption who follow no law so then were there a law of the land fobidding me to own a gun I would be a easy victim for I'd have no means of defense.Hopefully this will never happen in America but suppose a dictator, a corrupt president comes into power and were the citizen denied the right bear arms what defense would there then be for usually the militia is controlled by the One taking over, or where another nation to attack and actually invade the United States again what defense would I or any citizen have . More than likely some of these scenarios hopefully will never happen but I feel secure nevertheless that no matter what the threat I have the means to protect my life,my home,my loved ones were it to become necessary..

the 2d modification does 2 issues: It supplies the authorities the right to have a protection rigidity and it supplies persons the right to personal firearms. that's critical because on the time of the modern conflict between the first issues the British rulers tried to do became to confiscated the armory of the colonial electorate. Unarmed electorate will be a lot extra uncomplicated to administration by an authoritarian authorities than armed electorate. The lesson for immediately is an similar. If the authorities ever succeeded in banning all inner most possession of firearms, they might have entire administration because they effectively administration the protection rigidity. a terror of each and every authorities is that the human beings will rebellion and end their rule. lack of non-public guns makes it truly unlikely.

Because it give every American the right to bare arms. But they include it to give us the ability to be able to fight the gov't if necessary. The British removed that right so that the colonist would not be able to pose a threat to their rule. Men were not allowed even a sword. So they included this amendment as a means of allowing a militia to protect Americans.
