I'm 34 weeks pregnant and lately I have hear very loud cracking sounds exactly like someone is cracking there knuckles inside my womb! Is this normal?? I never heard it with my first son. It's not my stomach growling or anything it's distinctly when the baby moves and is heard where he pushes against me. Is it his joints cracking, and I can hear it? Has anyone else had this happen to them or know what it is? Thanks -Amber

*Definitely not hiccups I feel those but never hear them... good suggestion though =]
*I'm like 100% that it's not my body making the cracking sound
and yeah it has been so loud that it wakes me up from my sleep! Thanks to the women who said it happened to them I feel a little better now!!! =D and I will ask my OBGYN I have an appointment in less than two weeks.

Yes, it's normal. Pregnancy not only loosens your muscles and ligaments, but the babies as well. My ribs cracked whenever I bent over when I was pregnant! Very disturbing, but not harmful. Best wishes for a healthy baby and smooth delivery!
I'm editing to say I'm suprised it hasn't happened to anyone else that has answered. My doctor had told me it was quite common. Weird.

Well, MY FIRST REACTION WASN'T WHAT!!!
lol... I thought that I was the only person in the world who experienced this. Then I also asked my doctor. He told me that is is very normal and no to worry, although it disturbed me when it would happen to me while I was sleeping and the *cracking* noise would wake me up!!! But I had a healthy (maybe this was the prob.) 9lb 21 1/2in. baby girl!!!
Good Luck and God Bless1!!

31 weeks pregnant here with my third child and I have never heard what you have described. I have heard my *own* joints cracking fairly often though, especially my hips in the third trimester of each pregnancy.

I know a woman who swore she could hear her babies sucking their thumbs in the womb. Anything is possible! Maybe these are hick-ups?
