DSL and other broadband connections will only allow you to surf and download faster. This will not make your computer run any faster.

Without knowing the specifics of your setup, RAM is the best thing you can buy. Have at least 512K.

Also make sure that you have minimal programs starting at boot time. Install winpatrol to look at your startups.

If you have Norton or McAffeeeee, understand that they use significant system resources. I prefer Avast. AVG is also small and good.

First of al, DSL does not make your computer run faster. Thats only the internet going faster. People tend to think that because they have a fast internet that they have a fast computer. They dont. Anyways, to make your computer run faster you should defrag your system drive. Also add memory, that is oh so very necesary.

Anyways, good luck.

dsl doesn't make pcs go faster just the internet, if u want the faster internet go to earthlink.com or internet from cable, change services they go up to 10mb per sec, but is not cheap as dsl
if u got fast pc u can download things at 700kb per sec with dsl and if u got cable internet u'll get a lot more than dsl, 10 times more, if ur pc is nto too fast u cna download at 200 or 350kb with dsl and with cable internet 10 times more too, if u want fast pc, clean it up, give it performance, save memory, get higher memory card, get 2gb hardware memory card, defragment it and last buy a new hard drive with a lot of space which helps the pcs run freely,
