This is a good question. Muslims have been wearing veils but for some strange reason at the moment the atmosphere has been very anti -muslim. I think it is due to the terrorsist issues BUT what people need to remember is the fact that not all muslims are terrorists.

In Australia it was on the news that Nestle Food Company had put Halaal friendly sign on kit kat bars and all sorts of people got up in arms about it. It was on the radio and TV current affair programs and there was a Australian Poll about should / or should not put the halaal sign on kit kat bars. It was SOOO bizaare and now I am hearing that muslim school children are not allowed to wear the veil at schools and employers are asking their employees not to wear the veil and muslim people are having to change their name to david or nancy in order to get employment. Its a world gone mad with fear and prejudice and it is strange because we are the most educated (as world) we have ever been and yet I am faced with this type of prejudice.

The more people that speak up about it and say " stop you are being ridulous" the better. Muslims or non muslims need to say " dont be silly".

All cultures are involved in racial disputes and terrorism and ALL cultures are political and it is an act of mindlessness to go on a witch hunt regarding muslim people. People need to wake up and be sensible.

things are changing, i do not mind about muslims wearing veils at all, as long as they don,t cover their nose and mouth and look like murders. they can wear a veil which covers the head and not the face as it looks very frightening. further more muslim women are a complicated nation, they do not want to teach or work in an office with males, yet they are looking for jobs in Britain. i think they need to stay in their country and create jobs for women only, and that of men only. i really don,t see a point why a moslem should not look in the eyes of a male like as if they will go to hell if they do so. the Australian bushmen are always naked. visit the Australian villages or normads next time you go there, you will find naked people all over the place and they are never ashamed. in fact they will laugh at you wearing clothes in turn as well.

Hi, surely if it was custom to do it you would not know any different ? Others would just see it as an unusual custom example here in Scotland it is customary for men to wear skirts but we call them Kilts.lol

no - not if it felt wrong to me.

why do something just cos everyone else does? Make your own mind up about your own life- don't live your life through others, for others or like others just cos it seems the easiet option. Live your life the way you want to - its your human right, isn't it?

I don't mind being nakes. Only if everyone else was o.k. with it. I wouldn't have to waste all this money and shopping time.

I have thought this before. We expect people to dress as we do, but I doubt we would walk around naked if the locals did.
