Yeah Jesus definately was not born on December 25 (In the bible it mentions that the shepards and their flocks were outside when Jesus was born and obviously would not be out there if it was in the freezing winter). December 25 was the date of the Roman festival marking the 'birthday of the unconquered sun.' Christians back then wished the date to concide with it. And even if it was his birthdate do you think Jesus would be happy with how commercialized christmas is and them making money off "his birthday" (No he would turn over the table of money)

Because Jesus' birth date is unknown, yet it was necessary to celebrate the second greatest event in the history of the human race, so the Church selected a date that was not already assigned to another feastday. If your birth date was unknown, as in the case of some of these orphans from third world countries that are being adopted, would you prefer to celebrate your birthday on an alternate date, or not to celebrate it at all?

The early Church adopted it as a way of co-opting the celebration of Saturnalia, a Roman, pagan holiday. The Christians did this purposely and, apparently effectively - when was the last time someone wished you Merry Saturnalia?

It used to be the day of of a huge pagan celebration and festivity and the Catholic Church kept the date and the day and transformed it into the day of the birth of Christ. Christianity is in many respects a prolongation of paganism under different forms.

Well, it's the esitimated day that jesus was born, the exact day is not known. But still Xmas represents jesus so anything else has nothing to do with it, I dont care what you say.

the Bible says Christ was born when the shepards were bringing in their flocks from the fields. Probably in September or early October.
