I had to read an article written by San Grewal. In her article, she states that she thinks TV provides us with true knowledge in such TV shows as Extreme Makeover, What not to wear, etc. Because once you feel good about yourself, you can achieve more in life. For my essay, I have to write about whether I agree with her statement or not and the problem is , I'm neutral. I think that non-fiction shows provide us with true knowledge but fictional shows provide is with false knowledge. I also have to pick two tv shows that I watch to back up my argument. How do I decide on which argument to lean towards? Please help, thank you so much!

BTW, this essay is for philosophy and my view on what I think "true knowledge" is and how I feel media potrays it to us.

I'd say that if you are absolutely neutral, then that is the point of view you should take. Your thesis could be that there is both good and bad information on TV. You sound as if you are on your way, but I'd suggest that you take some time and brainstorm to see if you can come up with other instances of bothe good and bad information.

If, however, the paper specifically tells you to take one side or another, then view this as an academic exercise and take one point of view. Good luck.

I believe you already have the answer. If your feeling is neutral; then define the pros and cons that cancel each other out. You can't get a bad grade for something that comes from yourself; it just has to make sense though.
