Just remember that a whole lot of people died to preserve that freedom that you are questioning.

You are insinuating that we have no freedoms?
Are you told what job you will take?
Are you told where you must live?
Are you told what you can and cannot believe?
Are you told that you cannot ask questions like the one you just asked?
Are you told what you must do in any segment of your life short of criminal acts.
There are groups, both government and private sector, that are trying to control every aspect of your life and mine. They are getting close, but they are not there yet.
Mistakes and injustices are made every day by you and me and government and concerning just about anything one can conceive. But few countries will support freedom. When, in America, anyone (or group) can stand on any street corner and preach "death to Americans, death to America" and not be shot on the spot - as perhaps they should be - the answer to your question is obvious.

Freedom is doing whats right without a government having to tell you to. The problem starts when a people abuse their freedom then the government steps in and no more freedom.

Yes, I believe in the USA it is because our personal freedoms are being narrowed with each passing day because the president wants to control everything but will not be responsible for anything
