A baseball pitcher doesn't bowl.
I would assume that a cricket bowler throws harder since he gets a running start.

A baseball pitcher is somewhere between 85 to 95 mph on average. Most cricket pace bowlers are between 80 and 90 mph. Some bowlers have got up towards late 90's mph (Shoab, Lee, Thomson etc.) but they are rare.
And to answer an answer, cricket bowlers can bend their arm up to 15 degrees these days so doesn't have to be totally straight any more.

They are surprising similar actually. 160 kph is 100mph. When you consider that the baseball pitcher is just throwing the ball from a slight mound, with no restriction on action, it's a wonder they can't get any faster than a cricket bowler. Admitedly, the cricket bowler has a running start, but he has to keep his arm straight.
One up for the cricket bowlers, I would say.

A baseball pitcher - Detroit Tigers reliver Joel Zumaya was recorded at around 105mph during the American League Championship Series. The fastest cricket bowler will be in the low 90mph zone.

Joel Zumaya of the Detroit Tigers throws the fatest pitch in the majors at 103mph. 1 mph = 1.609 kph, meaning he would throw the ball at around 165.7 kilometres per hour. www.cricinfo.com lists Shoaib Akhtar as bowling the fatest delivery recorded at 161kph in 2002 against the Kiwis. However mitigating factors are that a) barely any baseball pitchers can throw high 90's or above b)relievers for baseball (which Zumaya is) only come out to throw a handful of pitches and then are done for the night c) starting pitchers NEVER throw day after day (they all pitch once then get the next week or more off) d)all baseball players are on steroids.

Major league baseball pitchers are usually 85-95 MPH. The fastest pitch I've seen was 101 MPH. I don't know what that is in KPH.
