help with home?

my wife has gotten like 8000 dollars behind on my home loan and i need help with it. does anyone know where i can get government assistance to catch up. I was a victim of hurricane Rita

It isn't the responsibility of the government to bail you out because your wife failed to make the mortgage payments. I don't see how she could have gotten that far behind without your knowledge. If you own the house, it is your responsibility to make sure the bills are paid. You may be able to refinance the house so that you can catch up the back payments. If you talk to the bank, they may be willing to work out a payment schedule to help you catch up the payments. Both you and your wife could take second jobs and put all the extra money on your mortgage.
