I turn 62 in March 2007. My official Social Security record only shows 28 quarters towards the minimum of the 40 required. These quarters include one tour with the Navy from 1964 through 1967. I worked for the CIA for a little over 5 years from 1968 through 1973 and any credit for this has just "disappeared." When I was forced to resign (I married a foreign national) I was TOLD that the money I had contributed to the CIA pension fund would be transferred to my Social Security account. This did not happen, and I am unable to get any answers. The CIA has simply ignored a formal request from the Social Security office here in the Philippines (my current address) to resolve the matter. I find it inconceviable that I could serve the US for nine years, including almost 3 years on the ground in Vietnam, and be entitled to nothing. But this is apparently how things are. What should I do?

Hello,

Is this Art Bell?

Hey, I am sorry the CIA is not cooperating with you. It sounds like they are ignoring you ever existed.

Also, at the rate of infanticide (abortion) in America, I find it highly unlikely any one in my age range who were born in the 1970's, will ever see a dime from Social Security. BTW, why is it called social security anyway. I would rather not rely on any "Social Programs" This is what our government wants. With fewer and fewer people entering the workforce, who will be contributing to SSI?

Plus, are you sure you want to rely on any "social programs".

Hope this helps you............................................................ :-O

You would have to check with your local Social Security office
about how much you will get.

People who work for goernment agencies like the CIA, the FBI and
the IRS don't pay Social Security tax.

you may receive a checklist from social safety each twelve months based on your earnings. in case you have the final one you won, that should tell you what you may receive month-to-month in case you grew to become disabled, took early retirement at age 62, customary retirement age (which for me is 66), or the optimum in case you wait until age 70.

Yeah yeah right mate. Nobody believes you but I do. ;)

There will always be social security. Capitalism needs welfare to keep it running for without it, capitalism would crumble within days.

Tell it to CNN, if it makes the USA look bad, Ted Turner loves it. I agree it sounds like you did get screwed, did you give up U.S. Citizenship?
