It all depends on how determined you are. I was a smoker for around 10 years. At one point, I was smoking 2 packs a day but towards the end I was smoking about a pack a day. A couple months ago, I decided to quit and went cold turkey. It's been working great so far. I'd recommend chewing a lot of gum. Gums with very strong flavors like Big Red will help. Since you were chewing tobacco instead of smoking, you at least won't miss the sensation of smoking a cigarette so it may actually be easier. I was just as much addicting to the act of holding and smoking a cigarette as I was to nicotine. A doctor once told me that you can actually overcome the nicotine addiction in just a week. It's actual act of smoking that is hard to overcome. The nicotine withdrawal symptoms will usually go away after just a week so just hang in there. The first week is normally the hardest, but once you get through it, it only gets easier. Good luck.
