I see Florida is in the news again. again it is about voting, The EDemocrat lost by a few votes so she asked for a recount. After a week she was declared the loser again . Now she want the court to order a NEW ELECTION. She clames the voteing machines melfuntioned & did not count her votes. I guess the machines were republican because those votes WERE counted. When are polititions going to be good losers.Did they think may be the people did not want them?

Mark D: unless the changed the law since 2000, dimples chads are specifically NOT valid votes. The law clearly stated that at least 2 corner of the chad must be detached.
captainco...: So 18,000 voters that can't find either candidate is more likely than 18,000 that didn't vote for an office most of them don't know who holds?

There is a statistical anomaly in the fact 18,000 non votes for seat existed meaning according to the Machines NO ONE voted for either candidate, there are to reasonable theories as to why this happened and in the interest of a fair election should be looked into, first theory is that the machines malfunctioned since out of these 18,000 votes were cast for all or most other offices on that ballot, this is 13% higher than the average non vote statewide which was about 2%, the second theory is the ballot design which placed both candidates in a position unexpected or overlooked by the voters, say what you will but if you believe 18,000 members of the public didn't vote for either candidate you need your noggin checked, this was an obviously flawed result that should be contested so integrity of our system comes into so much question that it disfranchises voters from either party from voting in the future, Democracy depends on fair and ACCURATE elections
I would HOPE that both candidates would want this investigated over a little thing I like to call INTEGRITY

It's the way Democrats do things "recount until I win" In order for there to be an "actual" reason for a new election that loser would have to prove that all or most of those 18,000 "votes" would have gone to the Democrat side. It is my beleif that "all" of them were actually cast for the republican..... the attempt at steeling the election failed because the Republican won any way..

A lot of places had trouble with the voting machines and still managed to hold elections and tally the results. Maybe she just didn't understand the people.

The only ones I see whine are Democrats when they lose. Florida stayed pretty much republican on the whole, so I don't think that politician has a leg to whine on.
