There are some shades that are a yellow base. If you have fair skin, you probably have a blue or red base not a yellow base. Which is why a lot of foundations will look orangey. try to find a foundation that goes off of shades like cool or warm. You would be a cool shade. I think loreal natural match does this... if you want a cheaper brand. If you want a different brand. Go to prescriptives, lancome or mac. They all have multiple shades for different tones. When you do this, have them try it on down by your jawline, then walk out of the store and look at it in natural light. Also some places at a department store will let you bring it back if you are unhappy after a certain amout of days... just make sure you ask before you buy. There are some places like lancome and estee lauder that will give you a sample size to take home to try for a few days to test out before you buy.
I have fair skin with rosy cheeks. I use Lancome Adaptive Creme 0.
I have tried MAC, Clinique, Benefit and Prescriptives and they all looked orange on me. Sometimes its the sales person who is incompetent and thinks that you arent as light as you are and give you the wrong shade because the way the lighting is in the store. Lancome is the first one I've found in awhile that looks not orange on me.

Most of the time you don't need to use a foundation...If you want to use one try covering your blemishes with concealer then use a powder....applying with a pad. I have the same problem, only I seem to have fairer skin in the AM than in the PM. I also seem to have a slight almost olive tint (grandparents from Romania!). I have found a light powder works best and is the lightest for those special occasions when I need a foundation.

With the blemishes, I would suggest to use an oil free makeup or something specially make for sensitive skin. Just because a foundation appears light does not make it right for your skin. There are people who have different colors as a base for the skin color. You probably need to try a foundation with a different colored base- there are lighter shades for those with olive colored skin and for those with a more red based color. I would encourage you to stop by a makeup counter at the mall and speak with a makeup rep. about your skin and what you personally need to look for in a foundation color, as well as tips for applying and blending!

If you have a good amount of blemishes then yes use a concealer. I am also pretty pale complexioned and what I do is use a foundation a little bit darker than me and use a cosmetic applicator ( it kinda of looks like a small triangular sponge) and follow up by dusting my face with a powder close to the color of my liquid using a medium sized face brush with alot of bristles. Hope this helps......

Always you can make sure you can test the foundation before you buy is so you can see what it looks like on your skin. Test it on your jaw line and blend into your neck, this way you can tell if it will transition okay with your skin.
Make sure also that you aren't over applying. If you aren't against spending a bit of money, go to MAC or Clinique or any other cosmetic counter and they can give you a hand picking a colour.

Try using L'Oreal True Match, and go for the cool shades.
When you buy a foundation and there's no sample, stand in the light and hold the bottle to your wrist (where the skin matches the skin on your face) and see if it looks right.
I use a concealor before foundation, but it's up to you.
Apply a moisturizer and/or primer before your foundation. Blend in a circle, using your fingers.
I hope I helped!

Many foundations have a yellow or orange undertone to them which would make you look orange! You probably need a foundation with a little bit of a pink undertone. You can contact me via email and I'd be happy to send you some samples!

Maybe you were an Oompa Loompa in a past life?? j/k. I would go for a darker shade, the lighter colors make me look orange too. If you still can't get rid of the orange, you might wanna go to a makeup counter somewhere and ask for advice. The people there know best!!! Hope this helps...........

get your foundation done in a department store - ask for a sample and if you cannot afford to buy their foundation (usually a good investment) then match the color at the drugstore.
use the concealer in a green tint to counter the redness in the blemishes.

go to macys or carsons and go to a make-up counter and ask them to match a foundation to your skin tone. also try using a sponge to apply it and just spread it over your face lightly. you might want to even try air brush foundation.
