I know what the tag is, But my arrow keys only seem to work on the date & time line, How can I input it?

In the setup screen there are two spaces that read not installed, one of them reads service tag, though my arrow keys work on date & time line, by scrolling horizontally, time, date, year, when I use down or up arrow & being changed with left & right arrow I can't move down this particular page to enter known service tag & express service code all other pages are easily navigable, so when I install o/s they are listed as zero (0). I can change time, enable or disable all other parameters. I,m no techie so please forgive my misuse of any terminology & use intiution in addressing my dilemma.

You say that you know what the service tag is, but I dont see how this relates to your question.

The service tag is a sticker on your computer that has a number on it. When you put this number to the manufacturers website (dell.com), it knows which specific computer and options (graphics, HD, CD, Monitor, ect) you have, so if you want to download drivers, updates, etc. This is nothing to be "installed in setup menu"

Now, if your arrow keys dont work, then it is possible that you have the wrong keyboard selected in your control panel.

If it is a dell then you may need to contact dell support and have them send you the download to flash the bios. after the flash you may need to run the dell system utility cd to have it apply the service tag to the bios update
