I often dream of falling.
I am being chased by a monster ( I know that the monster represents someone I was afraid of as a child)
I have to jump off the cliff or let the monster catch me.
I jump off the cliff.
Then I usually have what I can only describe as an OBE and I see myself falling and hit the bottom.
I just jump up and keep on running
Like in a very dodgy film when you can clearly see that it is a dummy falling.
Have been having this experience for years.

i dont know what it means but if you dream of falling of a cliff and you hit the ground when you wake up most people die of a heart from the stress
so consider your self lucky and try not to build up alot of stress before you sleep

Falling dreams are very common and often happen when we've started something new, like a year of school or a job. Falling a long height and landing safely in a dream means you should trust your instincts to safely lead you out of difficulty.

generally, a dream where you are falling doesnt always mean you have lost something, more like you fear you are going to lose something.....
the SCIENCE.... ever heard of REM or rapid eye movement.... its what happens when you are dreaming because.... in your dream, if you want to look around, your eyes, even closed will actually look around and because all you are in is your thoughts, you can dream for what seems to be hours but it is only minutes... that is why it is rapid.... when you dream, your body still treats the environment in your dream as external stimuli reacting to it.... you can see, hear, feel, etc in your dream so without receiving the messeges from your peripheral nervous system, your body send out messeges in response.... so when your falling, your body starts firing all pistons to keep you alive which wakes you up.... unless you don't care about dying from falling, you will always wake up or your mind will change the dream, either way your body will try to keep you "alive"..... if you do manage to hit the ground and your body thinks it is real it will do what it thinks it is supposed to if it really did happen, which isnt all that good.... blood gets diverted.... etc.... so i suggest you hope you wake up......
back to the meaning of the dream because that is something i can usually do...... you havent lost something, you just feel you are going to lose something, such as control..... your mind is attempting to sort through issues in your subconscious and when feelings of insecurity surface, it is usually objectified by a sense of falling.... well that is in my opinion....

Falling indicates that you feel out of control in your life. As to hitting the ground, we just don;t really know

Not a good sign, take a good hard look at your life and see what needs to change.
