Unless you're an award winning poet, forget it. The only way you'll see them published is to win a reputable contest (win, place , or show) or self- publish. Most poetry is either self-published or paid to publish.
Portry.com, poet's.com, International Library of Poetry is all the same organization and is a scam. Try winning wriiter's .com for some site links to reputable firms and contests.

Put it together in a manuscript, then search for contests (legit) that are looking for "chapbooks" or sometimes even unpublished manuscripts. To find the legitimate ones, go to poetry magazines or Poetry Market (book) for the current year. 2007 should be out soon.

Look up The national Library of Poetry, they will publish any poem. All you need to do is send them a copy as your entry into their contest and they will publish it, especially if you buy one of their anthologies, or books.....KECK

well, I entered a poem in an online contest at poetry.com and it's being published... so, there's a way to go about it; just enter it in contests.

www.lulu.com is actually a very good place to start. A friend of mine recommended it to me after herself having been very successful with it. Its free, and not web-based, and definitely worth a shot.
