please help, when i try to run mame in pure dos it doesnt load, it just hang on the dos promt (c:\mame pacman)

Question

in the dos prompt i do the following c:\mame (name of the game).
and enter, and it just stays there like if it just hung,
i tryed with several mames for dos mame, dmame ,dmamepp
if some one can help please answer me, oh and yes i put the CWSDPMI file in the folder.
