Yes. As long as your bag of water is still intact and your doctor hasn't advised you against sexual activity... go right ahead. I had sex up until the day I gave birth... with no problems... and I was dilated to 3 for nearly a month before delivering. I lost part of my plug almost 2 weeks before going into labor as well (the "snotty stuff" you're referring to). I hope that you do not end up having to have a scheduled c-section... vbac is very safe nowadays in most births (if your doctor and you are willing) and the recovery is so much faster. Sex and walking might help to bring things on... as well as staying hydrated. Best wishes.

you are worrying me with the green snotty looking stuff. Nothing should be green. That is usually a sign of infection. Talk to your doctor about that. If you aren't up for sex then don't do it, but if you are then have at it. I was told to have sex to possibly start thinning out my cervix (this didn't work by the way) and I had to be induced and had an energency c-section. Hope all goes well for you.

Green discharge is bad and can indicate meconium in your fluid which is poisonous to your baby. Have you told your Dr. about the green??
Other than that, yes sex is still safe, as long as your Dr. hasn't told you otherwise. The reasons some Dr.'s advise against sex is due to the risk of preterm labor in some women with signs of preterm labor or a history of premature birth. But that's clearly not your case since you're full term.

In most cases, sex is perfectly ok until the very end. Just make sure that when you do, if you feel any pain..you stop. Keep in mind...sex has been known to start labor, so be prepared. As long as your pregnancy has been normal and your doctor hasn't instructed you to stop....you should be just fine!
Good luck and Congrats!

it is perfectly safe to have sex through out the entire pregnancy unless your doctor specifically tells you not to. it may even help you induce and cause your cervex to open up more. i am one week behind you and haveing the same problem with my cervex not dialating. as for the slimmy mucus stuff... i think that is your mucus plug that you are suppose to lose right before you go into labor. but im not sure if it is suppose to be green. just talk to your doctor just to make sure. best of luck to you. hopefully we both come out of this fine.

Go for it hun! My husband and I had sex up to the day we had her! It's totally safe. I was 39 weeks also. Just make sure you are comfortble in the position! Maybe, it will help you so you don't have to have that c-section! My doctor told me it induced me! Best, of luck to you and your husband!

They tell you not to have sex at this stage, however, my husband and I were having sex even a couple of days before my son was born and I was very late like 42 weeks

Yeah baby! It's safe, plus it's a natural way to induce the labor. Congratulations on your baby!
