my middle son has been in the forces since he was 17 (almost 20 now), the first year he could not come home for Christmas and it was the first time ever that i did not have all my kids with me to celebrate, but last year he came home without telling me, everyone else knew but me, i missed him so much, and often cried myself to sleep because i could not bare him being away, so on the 22nd DEC 2005 all of my family was at my house, (acting a little bit suspicious) because it was not often i had them all in the one place at the same time, my middle son walked in looking like a grown man in his uniform, i almost passed out with shock, it was a wonderful surprise and i cried my eyes out for hours, it was the best surprise i ever had....pity he could not stay to see 2006 with us, but he had a duty, he had to go back, this year he will be away but i am now used to him not being here, although i do miss him loads, i just wish he could be here though, it would make Christmas a happier time for me and his brothers, but we know that he'll be having a good time where he is, and i know he's safe but that memory will be with me forever...I'll never forget it

Mine was when i first started dating a real nice girl, i had not seen her for 2 days as i was working 12 hour shifts, it was a horrible cold and wet night and id only been home from work about 30 minutes when the door bell went, when i opened the door i got a bit of a shock, there was my girlfriend stood there freezing cold and soaking wet and she said i just wanted to see you, and she'd walked 4 miles too, well my heart just melted and i hugged her, my mum and dad told her to get in the house and they dried her off and it was just wonderful to see her we had a lovely evening :-)

got home from the hospital after surgery. I got a call from my son who is in the Air Force. He asked me to go to the door and check for an enveploe his friend dropped off for him. Got to the door, no envelope. A knock at the door, figuring it was my sons friend, I opened the door only to find my son on the other side. It was the nicest suprise I've ever gotten.

If my brother stood at my door.... I would probably be so shocked- I'd die!
Unfortunately I received a call in November 18 of 1995, on a Saturday.... my brother's best friend was on the phone telling me that my beloved brother committed suicide in his own apartment. That was the worst news ever.
I'm so happy for you. Enjoy his presence!!!!

My daughter. I was convinced we were having another boy, and she was beautiful. Nearly 15 years later she still is.
