That is normal. I was 10 when I started and finished the 4th grade a couple of weeks before I started.

Yes, thats normal. We all get our periods at different ages. Even though 4th grade is a bit younger than some girls, it isn;t outragously young. Don't worry about it.

There is no "normal" when it comes to starting your period. They say girls start younger now because of better health, nutrition etc. 50 years ago I started at the age of 11 and I had a friend then that started at age 14. You have nothing to worry about.

Girls are starting their periods earlier these days because the cow are injected with hormones. Those hormones passed into the milk causing young girls to develop quicker. This has been going on for years and does not appear to be harmful. It does give a good argument for drinking soy milk though.

Girls blossom at all different ages. My mom went to school with a girl that got her first period when she was 6 (she went to the doctor, and that is what it was), however my mom didn't start till she was 14, I didn't start till I was 12.

my daughters were 10 and 13. I read in a college study that girls are getting it younger and younger all the time. The age of 9 is not uncommon.
