It depends on what your giving up on. If your done w/a relationship regardless for reasons you can't take anymore then yes it is okay to give up.
If you mean on your life then the answer is a resounding no.

I guess it's never ok to give up even though I feel like it right now since my husband lost his job, and Christmas is just around the corner.
