gov't program for us all to pay more money for thru taxes?
Incase your not paying attention, they want a national healthcare system. I beleave the last theory was a 6% tax increase.
This also leads into why do they want the gov't to take our hard earned money and give it to those who didn't earn it, shouldn't that be up to charities not the gov't to regulate?
How can they say they want less gov't in our lives, but then want us to give more money to them to redistripute to whom the gov't(not 'the people') pleases?

Because liberals, like most people, are ignorant when it comes their own political ideology. I believe a lot of liberals haven't really thought about their positions hard enough to see the inconsistency.
They don't like the idea of the government telling them who they can sleep with, but they have no problem with the government telling them who they can do business with, and under what terms. They don't like paying to promote certain religious positions with tax dollars, but don't see anything wrong with tax dollars going to support certain cultural or artistic positions (i.e. art subsidies).
Though tangerine is partly right; conservatives are just as guilty of being hypocrites. You can't really argue that the state must regulate our behavior to make us "moral", but that it shouldn't regulate our behavior to make us "fair."

Why do I keep seeing that liberals want less government. That is a Conservative stand which had been absolutely thrashed by this very unconservative administration now. Even Liberals want less interference by government than what the Republicans have done over the last 6 years.
As far as socialized health care that has been a liberal talking point for years. Nothing new there.
I think someone has been listening to to many talking heads and not really looking at what is really going on.

Socialised health care, if run properly, is more cost-effective than a private health system such as the US one. For example, the UK National Health Service costs roughly 50-60%% per patient treated overall than the insurance-based US system, once administrative and treatment costs are added together. A socialised health system means more taxation but releases you from the need to make health plan payments, and you don't have to worry about needing treatment your insurance doesn't cover.

Actually, I've noticed that a lot of conservatives claim that they want smaller government, but if anything, the government has gotten MUCH bigger since Bush has been in office. Do the terms Patriot Act and Homeland Security ring any bells? Also, Bushy Boy's spending habits have been anything but conservative, as the record deficit shows.

health care is a "perk"?
why don't you just cancel your insurance then? a perk is something you don't need... so, why are you wasting money on something you don't need?
BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT'S NOT A "PERK"...
everyone who says it's a "perk" are the same people that don't have to pay for their own...
health care often comes down to who lives and dies... is that a "perk" situation? Oh, that's right... Republicans don't care about who lives and dies... I forgot...
sorry that six percent is more important than people's lives to you... we all see where your "morals" are as soon as the rubber hits the road...
and there is a CLEAR difference between a government providing a service and the government infringing on people's rights...

As an extreme radical liberal, I have never heard another liberal say they want more government over individuals. We want more government over businessess to control the damage they do to society and individuals.
And that 6% healthcare tax would be more than matched by the insurance premiums you won't pay anymore. It would save workers and their companies substantial amounts.

At least State governments are easier to control. And also, state governments cannot violate the Constitution either so they cannot become totalitarian regimes or anything like that.

Liberals are either idle rich or on welfare.
They all love government.
The more government, the better.
Welfare Democrats want bigger welfare checks from government.
Idle Rich Democrats, like the Democrat Senators have their fortunes in tax free bonds and funds.
More taxes never hurts Democrats.
They all make money off the working people.
