I leave it for another 3 weeks before I put mine up.
Some people like christmas and want it to last longer, remember when you were a child, you wanted christmas to go on forever. Some of them do look nice, but some go way over the top.
We usually take the kids and go for a drive around our area and have a look at some of the lights and decorations.

I do. I love Christmas, and I have a beautiful tree and decorations. No-one sees them but me, so I dont drive other people crazy. Everything went up day after Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays!

People put them up when they feel like getting in the spirit and want to start enjoying their holiday decorations. There is no rule that says anyone has to wait until December to put them up and its nobody else's business.
I put mine up the day after Thanksgiving.

It's a case of `I've got to be better than you`syndrome.Everyone has got to outdo each other these days.
I'm a traditionalist,my decorations go up 12 days before Christmas, and come down 12 days after.
Decorations make the room look dark, and when it's grey and wet outside, even more so.
I think people go overboard with decorations and lights,it seems as though every window and door has them.
personally,i think it's a waste of money and electricity.

If they've got kids then its nice to get them up early for them. Coming home to a house filled with nice dec's and lights is lovely and peaceful after a hard day at work.

Last year I didn't get a Christmas tree because we were moving...:( so this year I put up my tree on November 19th, I had a Christmas itch - it is nice to have it all done too, before the CRAZINESS starts

They spend so much money on the decorations that they feel that they should make the most use of them. Its money making time for the shops so thats why the shops decorate early and celebrate not because of Christmas!!!!

I believe that many people start putting their decorations up right after Thanksgiving. Where I live it seems to be acceptable to do this. Putting decorations up any sooner than Thanksgiving is not.
