You are just asking for trouble with any notice. If you are leaving wait until you start out the door. That will reduce the amount of time both of you have to face all the drama. On the other hand if you really want him to talk you out of leaving, go ahead and give notice it might work.

short notice????/ You are not leaving a job, you are breaking up your family...and just before christmas...it's important to stay for your daughters birthday but the rest of the holidays aren't important for her??? I suggest you do what you think is right as you are the one that will have to deal with the consequences of your actions and pick up the pieces...good luck to you and your family

Since he is aware of how you feel about the relationship , then wait till after the birthday . as you have planned.
if he is the violent type don't tell him at all.
just leave one day when he is gone.

Girl just leave dont say nothing just go thats unless if he did something wrong. Cause if he did then he dont deserve to know crap. But if its just not working out sit down with him and tell him how you feel. Good luck.

No time will be a good time so leave when it feels right to you. Be prepared for his reaction and make sure you have somewhere safe to go.
