Hi there. Entertaining, you say? One winner, then, head and shoulders above anything else I see listed here. "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson, a brilliant book that I have never met anybody who read it and didn't love it - from my book snob English lecturer to my brother in law who hadn't finished a book since leaving school! Not the most horrific, you understand, but the most entertaining. Most horrific is a whole other ball game...
Cheers, Steve.

Wasnt the night warriors Fu**ing brilliant!!!!! I have read most of Graham Masterton's books, he is excellent! Try reading three of his other books called: Ritual, Night walkers and Family Portrait.
Shaun Hutson is another good read, very similar to Graham Masterton; as is Dean Koontz.
One of my all time favourite books is Bless the Child by Cathy CashSpellman....you got to give it a go!!!
Can you recommend any others to me????

Most entertaining would be a three-way tie between the Green Mile,The Shining, and The Stand, all by SK.
Scariest horror novels? "Pet Cemetery" by Stephen King, and "The Amityville Horror".

Rose Madder by Stephen King.
When the guy starts running around with the Bull mask on yelling "Viva Ze Bull!" and he goes to the campgrounds and starts a fight with the Lesbians and the black lady pushes him down, sits on him and then pees in his face. That book (although sad in the beginning), cracked me up. Stephen King is a serious nut!

Was it Herbert? it was about a cottage in the woods that a couple bought - 'the Magic Cottage' maybe by James Herbert - or was that more sublime. if so then i hated reading ' it' by Steven King. I hate clowns now, was it Pennyworth or something like that - eckk!
But what about the 'The Fiend' about a Russian PM who was poisoned but keep in a half-ife zombie state to face the other world powers - KGB at work again?
