unless you work in a hazardous job or you are excessively sick, wait until the 2nd trimester.

tell your boss you are expecting and get the paperwork going so you are all sit when the time accures. Assure them that you will be returning to work and that you wanted to give them as much notice as possible to get a temp in to do your job. Also assure them (if you are ok with this) it is ok for them to call you at home during your leave if they have questions. waiting up to three months is ok to make sure everything is ok but do not hide it from them. Or be honest if you are not returning. so they know. becasue if you do not want to return and a few months later you find you need to work to make end meets you have burned that bridge. We have had this happen at our company a few times. If they were upfront the company always hired them back.

Congratulations!!! I would take your time when you're ready to say something. It took me a while to tell my employer that I was pregnant, but she was very happy for me. She was also very supportive and understood all the time that I had to take off work due to doctor's appointments and morning sickness.

when it begins affecting your work. The person who said that you can get fired for that is totally wrong. I was a paralegal, and there are laws protecting you from that very thing. They have to have a legitimate reason to fire you. Now if you miss work every other day or so then that would be a reason. :) Good luck.

Its really none of their business unless your doing strenuous activities. But remember they cannot fire you by law because you are pregnant if they do you can sue for being discriminatory

When you can't hide it any more. It isn't like you're 'malingering'. And it's not like you're obligated to put on a Macy's parade, either.

YOU SHOULD TELL WHEN YOU ARE GOOD AND READY. ACCORDING TO STATE LAWS, YOU HAVE TO GIVE AT LEAST 30 DAYS. I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR JOB HAS DIFFERENT RULES BUT I WOULD CHECK THEM OUT.
