Here is another factor - there simply wasn't enough natives left. The deceases the Europeans brought did kill off more than 20 mln. native Americans in both South and North America over a few decades.
Plus, in the North, the future plantators had to take the Indians' land before starting to cultivate it. So by the time this happened there were not so many natives left to enslave.
Before the Europeans came to North America, it was not densely populated any way. About 10 mln. Indians is said to have lived there, most of which were simply eradicated with the expansion of the settlers to the West - tribes were eliminated to the very last person. Not one descendant of the Indians who welcomed the setlers with turkey and fruits has made it to present days.
Its also true that American Indians would die in captivity, refusing to adapt to the new conditions.

That is not true about the weather conditions about the black race. When they came from below the equator their blood was thin and they died on ships from over exposure and here from the cold as well. Many blacks died from pneumonia, whereas the native to this land faired much better and had the remedies for the illnessess they would suffer from naturally, so henceforth they had the answers. Just like the blacks would in the islands and or Africa. The Native American was too clever to put them into those positions. It was far better to put into labor a person with strength but a foreigner for they did not know this land and where to go or how to survive in these regions either. Any native be it Black or chinese, or native American always fairs better on their own turf, just like you or I do well in our own backyard. Natives would pose a difficulty because they would devise a way to uproot and destroy the white man's property in a heart beat if he had his people in number. Not alone, but then there was Geronimo remember?
The whole reason is because they were ignorant to the terraine,(where would they go to escape? they would stick out like a sore thumb too, amongst the whites and natives?) and the language and they were very strong, but very controllable as well. Once they spred the word that they were slaves everyone would look at them and know they belonged to someone and would hunt them down. Just like they did to the Indian as well when they left the reservations.

From what I've read (I'm a history teacher in Texas so we have to deal with this exact issue) there are a couple of reasons.
Mostly, the Native Indians had the "home court advantage" so to speak, and they had free relatives nearby who would cause problems. The enslaved Indians would also stage uprisings frequently (there's a lot of this in New Mexico history.)
Slavers had to import Africans, so the cost was naturally more than it would have been if enslaving the Native Indians had been possible - as it was it was impractical.
Importing the Africans - taking them from their native land, starving them, transporting them stacked literally on top of each other for a long journey - served to weaken and disorient to the point that they were psychologically broken enough to be sucessfully enslaved.

Though many Indians were transported to the West Indies, Africa and towards Australia, many of them went voluntarily too. There was the business class who after a time acquired land and got richer. Now they are richer that the natives too and are not tolerated. Like in Fiji where there was a coup. In South Africa where Indians are shot.
So I can only say that the Indians were cleverer than the Africans in many respects. They survived too. They left India knowing that they were outcastes for having left their homeland. They survived the seas and the ship holds. They survived in the sugarcane plantations in the West Indies, tea plantations in Africa and the mines in Oceania. Because of the colour of their skin they blended in later on. But Africans went to America and till today they have not got proper resources. AND I GUESS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT INDIA AND NOT RED INDIANS(NATIVE AMERICANS). BECAUSE INDIA WAS COLONISED BY THE BRITISH AT THE SAME TIME.

Because in a crowd of white people, its easier to spot a runaway black slave than a native American. Slavery started out as payment to a ship ride over to the new Americas. The price was 7 years indentured service or you could buy yourself if you found the cash. Most ran away if they could. then they discovered people with black skin and that they stand out better than the indentured servants. If all black skin people were slaves, then any that are just walking around must be a runaway.

i don't understand. Spanish adult adult males are actually not a race so i assume you're speaking approximately white spanish adult adult males. White adult adult males created shade-ism. They started the whole easy dermis is extra useful. White females have been continually held in a intense esteem. The media nevertheless sends subliminal messages with white females continually held using fact the main suitable females. This has affected the psyche of black adult women and men. surprisingly in American society the place lighter dermis blacks are taken care of extra useful than darker. Even immediately, the few black people who're ordinary in mainstream are the lighter dermis/mulatto blacks. So i does not say that white spanish adult adult males are extra accepting. look at everywhere in the worldwide the place Eurpoeans have colonized in some unspecified time sooner or later. India has an analogous issue. They choose lighter dermis Indians over the darker ones. whilst black human beings and/or human beings of shade can loose their minds and shed insecurities then perchance there does not be a colorism issue in our community. yet as long as we live under a white majority there'll continually be some brainwashed persons.

The racial differences made escape tougher for those of African descent. The Native Americans would have had an easier way to escape.
It may be hard to believe, but the first slave traders with the Europeans were other Africans. They captured members of other tribes and sold them to the Dutch.

Is this a fact? I would have to see more data, from different markets.
I have read that Native Americans were not resistant to Old World diseases. But I think also, Native Americans would feel it easier to adapt to conditions in the new world, if they were to escape, and they could eventually make their way back to their own people.
Blacks would find it more daunting to navegate back across the ocean.

Being locked up in a room was totally alien to Natives. They kept slaves themselves, but let them walk free. A Native American locked up would refuse to eat or drink and would quickly die. A Native forced to work would refuse regardless of physical punishment and would escape at every opprotunity. Plus, a Native could disappear in America easier than an African. So Natives were cheaper because they made very bad slaves.

Possibly the traders bumped up the price to cover the costs of bringing them over from Africa.
