I've got a domain name, I've got FTP software, now I just need some software to help me create & design a website. I'm no webby guru so I want something free and fairly easy. What's best?

You might find it worthwhile to search the net for free website layouts you can use, then you just fiddle it to suit your needs. You will need to know some basic HTML to do this, but its not nearly as hard as it seems!

DaveSite.com has a wonderful page:
http://davesite.com/webstation/free-web-site-creation/
which explains how to make a website from scratch, His tutrorials are great too.

Its definatly worth atleast looking at, and isnt as hard as it seems. Whats the worst that can happen? You get a WYSIWYG and use that anyway :)

I myself use NVU. It can produce some great looking websites, but this does require some HTML and CSS knowledge to get professional looking sites, using a template. As it is based on apart of the same program Firefox is based on, the Editor looks very much like Firefox. (It is based on SeaMonkey Composer before it was called SeaMonkey)
