It does not come out by sucking as so many people answered. The baby massages the milk ducts with his gums and it releases, you could also do the same thing with your hands.

Breastfeeding is a supply and demand thing. The more you offer a baby to a breast the more milk she will produce. A woman can make as much milk as a baby needs. How much she would have would depend on the age of the baby and how much she is offering the baby. Men are not equipped to make milk to nurish a baby. Yes with hormones they could produce milk but never enough to fully nurish a baby. We are mammals and we are made to produce milk for our young. However unlike other mammals we have other deives and intreventions with feeding that interfers with feeding. So then the milk supply drops. Basicly the key is its a supply and demand thing, the more a baby is put to the breast the more milk she will make and have. The milk comes out of the nipple on the breast by means of holes. Their is not just one but depending on the woman 4 or so. Never counted but thier is more then one. As the baby sucks the nipple extends and the whole jaw of the infant goes over the Areola the dark part of the nipple. Then it puts pressure on the mammary glands the milk makers and with the stimulation more milk is produced. The way a man sucks and a baby is two diffrent things. The baby uses their jaw wide open to suck. Hard to explain but really its not that bad. Then the milk comes out the nipple via the holes in it. They are tiny not that big but you can kinda see them and when pumping you can definatly see them.

If you received the proper hormonal messenger to produce milk, you could breastfeed. Keep in mind that milk is just a highly modified form of sweat

Yes and i don't really think that a man would ever be able to breatfeed because girls grow up and develope hormones in their breasts and then a hormone sets off when a gril has a baby. I really don't think that this would be posable for a man until a man can have a baby!!!!!! thats a long ways a ways until that will be able to happen so just keep dreaming boys!!!!!! thats the girls job, sorry.

If a man were to have the hormones that cause lactation either naturally or as a side effect of certain medications then yes they can lactate.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Male_lactation
Also many baby boys and girls are born lactating because of the exposure to their mom hormones.

Technically, yes, males could breast feed if their mammary glands were developed. It is like sucking on a bottle's nipple.
