When you actually get sprayed by a skunk (I was while walking my dog) you do not smell it so much as it overwhelms you so you can't taste or smell anything and all you can think about is vomitting. Your eyes water, you can even break out in a rash.

i've smelled skunk before when they're
passing through the yard and to me,,it smells like VERY VERY VERY strong soap....enough that it burns the nose to breathe it and its a thick smell too....
