That's a good question, and even though I'm American, I'm still not offended, since I don't think that the US is the center of the world. (Also, I hate baseball.) However, in response to your remark about Americans lacking culture, all I have to say is that I bet you really enjoy listening to our music and watching our movies and TV shows. (By the way, why is it that you Brits watched more "Baywatch" than we Yanks ever did?)

We'd be happy to invite them, I'm sure, if any other countries cared as much about the game as they do here. If other countries had a bunch of teams and their own playoffs, I think it would be great if we had a real World Series.

Hmmm, you know, that's a good question. I guess since in a sport like baseball, for example, there aren't very many other countries that participate in the sport (only Japan that I know of). I still don't really know why they feel they have to call it a World Series. Good one!

when baseball was played primarily in the united states
when it was truly the world championship.
there is a world cup of baseball which began in 1938, britian
won the first.....
of the 36 world cups played so far, the united states has only won it twice.

its an insecurity thing, even though a team may be the national league champions, it makes them feel that much more important by putting the word "World" in front of the title, so please don't laugh at or mock these imitation "world" title holders, pity them and their egotistical ways.
