My sister gave me her iPod. Do i need to install something on my computer before I can transfer my music on to it? I want to put a cd in my computer, and put the music on the computer on the ipod.

rip the cd to your computer. when you get the songs from it in a folder, do this.
Connect the ipod to the computers usb port. open the folder containing the music you want. right click on each song title one at a time. click "send to" and send to the drive the ipod is connected to.

if you dont know for sure which drive the ipod is connected to just go to my computer and find it listed there. Also, you may have to turn the power on the ipod on after you connect it to the computer so it can be detected.

If this does not work i would suppose you will have to have a disk to install software. ask your sister for it. if she doesnt have it just go to the manufacturers website and see if it is available to be downloaded from there. Theres a good chance it will be.

intall it download it
connect your ipod wait until itunes comes up.
put your cdin and drag teh sogns into your library then take it from your librayry and pu t in into your ipod.

if that does not work or your having trouble call 1-800-my-apple
and tell then your prob
