The reason people seem to think communists are evil is that, according to history (like, the way it actually worked out), it just doesn't work. It's a great idea -- everyone works together, everyone shares, evryone gets along... But the way it has worked out (and this is over the last half of a century in places all over the world), in communist nations, a few start taking advantage of everyone else.
Take a look at some of the actual, real life communist communities: North Korea, Cuba, and we all have seen how successful the USSR has turned out to be...
There's always some who actually are evil, who are greedy, who take advantage.
It doesn't work, as history has shown. But it sure was a nice idea.

There are part to communism that i agree with and parts that i do not..for instance, i do not believe that everyone is equal. Taken literally things that are equal have all their properties the same. However, all people are different. It is true that we all have similarities, but we all have our differences as well. There is a sort of unity amongst all the diversity. But if, and i say if, one of the aims of communism is to have people be equal, then it fails on the basis that i have mentioned above.
If it doesn't already do so, communism ought to express its view as one that attempts to create fairness for all people, instead of equality. Equality cannot be achieved. Even if everyone makes the same money, somebody will always have the higher status, or be more famous, or have the better wife or husband and so on and so forth.
There is also the question of human nature. Is it in our nature to be fair? Equal? Good? If history is any indicator, then humans have it in them to be evil, injust, unfair, brutal, deceitful...you can blame society if you want, but then again, societies are composed of people afterall...we're left blaming the evil behaviors of a person on society of which in turn is composed of people with evil behaviors. Do we really have it in us to be good? why has there never been a perfectly good society? Why is it that in every society there are those who do evil? Whether it be evil according ot us, or to the very society they come from.
Some have said that communism is possible based on a randomness...that man will randomly, i suppose, stumble onto this great way of life, and everyone will be good, and there would be good will towards all men by all men. For that to happen would mean every man woman and child on the earth to embrace communism, and deligently be good from day to day...but if that is the case, then it was never our choice to make, for after all it was random..It could never be random if man pondered the pros and cons of various societal modes of life and then choose communism. I would randomly choose to be good every day. I don't randomly choose anything, i deliberately choose things. And there's always a reason why i choose anything.
Even a randomness in the sense that it is patternless is flawed, for if there is no pattern to our behavior, then today we'd act one way, and tomorrow another, today good, tomorrow evil...without pattern.
i'm afraid that for mankind to have this great society, then the very nature of man would have to be changed so as to bring about these behaviors that are so good...and by the way, who is defining what is the good here? Communism says that religion should be done away with. What if i want religion? See, now we have two different ideas of what is the good..who's right? Why should i believe you? Why should you believe me?

I think that communism or socialism are better govenmental systems than the "democratic" capitalist ones that exist today in the western world. However, many modern-day communist societies, such as the former Soviet Union, have collapsed, due, in part to corruption. Since power tends to corrupt, it's hard, if not impossible, to keep everyone on equal footing in a communist society. On the flip side, capitalism leaves too many people in abject poverty, in my opinion. If you happen to be the right gender, race, religion, etc., capitalism can work just great for you, but what about those who don't meet the criteria? Socialism can work. Just look at the great socialist systems in the US, such as the interstate freeway system or social security and medicaid.

communism is great on paper, but apply it to human nature and reason, it goes horribly wrong. the rich (the gov't) become greedy and still get richer while the poor (the people) get poorer because the government takes it away. the only way for communism to appear to work is to become a fascist nation. what would happen if all the doctors got paid as much as a mcdonald's employees?

Communism sucks for the reason you just said. The people that work hard don't get any better than the lazy bum who sits on his ***. What you get out of the system should be based on what you put into the system. Capitalism is the way to do that. It rewards those that work hard and penalizes those who don't.

100,000,000 people died at the hands of the communists in the 20th century.
And it didn't work in any place where it was tried. However, people insist that it DOES work.
Please don't confuse this place with your own personal blog - I'd have to flag your posts.

If the government was for the people and we could still vote, but no one was rich or poor, then yes, we would do better.

Communism prevents people from working hard because there is no incentive to stop laziness. It is a failed system, it cannot and will not work

in theory but it doesn't work. The people in charge tend to be power hungry morons like most politicians but with no checks on their power
