Just a thought. The whole thing seems so murky. Poor man either way. Feel sorry for his family. What or who do you reckon is behind alexander Litvinenko's radioactive poisoning?

I feel sorry for his family folks. Whether he was innocent or guilty the way he went was ghastly but more tragic for his family.

There's alot more going on to be sure, whether we'll ever know the whole truth....? This is straight out of a spy thriller.

I'd like to add also that the manner of his death rather detracts from or buries his own past, remember he WAS KGB, what acts or crimes was he himself responsible for before he jumped ship? Was he really a repenter of what he (used to) stand for or was it a case of being able to do damage from the 'safety' of foreign soil.?

Would a sane rational man put himself through such an horrific painful death by contaminating himself with radioactive material that can't exactly be bought over the counter? I dont think so. It's murder.

this is a very interesting question. I was tempted to ask it myself --until i made a search and found yours. these killings are "no accident" whether the woman journalist in Russia or the current ex-spy. It looks the invisible hand had a definite "hands on" --when it comes who stays in power in Kremlin. A country that was a dictatorial for so long can not jump into democracy in a decade or two or three. You have to wait for may be a century or more until we see real changes...in a real democratic government. what surprises me most --how come an ex-spy agent who was formed as an "agent" drank or ate that substance. if one is an agent and so vulnerable "he should be able to master the art of eating" while not swallowing...sorry for the guy and his family -- I tend to sympathize with the rightist elements of society even if their past is a bit murky...hope it helps in your search for the truth.

Why does everyone seem to have sympathy for Litvinenko? What you overlook is that this man is a traitor. He turned against his own county and no doubt gave up state secrets to gain entry in the UK. Think about how the Russian people would feel? Would Americans have sympathy if Benedict Arnold was poisoned by George Washington? If some high level CIA agent defected to Russia or to Saddam Hussain and gave secret to the enemy, do you think it is barbaric for the US to kill the particular agen?
THis man may be useful to the west because of all the information he knows, but certainly a defector deserves no respect. They have already shown they cannot be trusted once.

Come to the UK and claim assulyum, If it is deserved then I agree, get a job stay at home and do not antogonise your old country.
Come here and claim assulyum and then atack your home country, well thats a different matter. Maybe i should say nothing, but it seems to me that if you play with matches you get burnt. The recent events seem horrific, but anyone one in Litvinenkos position should settle down here for a cozylife and not stir up issues in his own country- if he does so he grabs there attention!!

That is an inside job, but whether Putin did it or rogue elements in his government is hard to say. But it sound just like Georgie Markov of the middle 70s

I smell a coverup. There's a LOT more to this and it's been de-noticed, dont ever expect to get the truth.

Everyones worrying about this man, everyones looking at the cause, the effect, focussing on the one single issue, I want to know... what is it that we are having our attention taken away from ?

My deepest sympathy's are with the poor mans family, he has been murderd, but the chances of justice are slim to zero.

The democratic win in congress has telegraphed the world that the US is unable to do much of anything because of the liberals soon to be in charge. Russia is moving to reestablish itself as a super power to take our place. Soon the US will be in the same group as France and Great Britain. A country unable to accomplish much of anything because of failed politics.

Some one who had access to and well trained in the administration and toxicity of Polonium210.

Mmmmm..... can you think of an organisation that fits the description.

Then again in Russia they usually just shoot political enemies like bankers and journalists.
